The Buccaneer 21 is the extended version of the superb Buccaneer 19 and features all the same qualities but with extra deck space. It also has the largest hull volume in its class enabling it to have a 75bhp engine installed below the main deck. This feature, together with the generous beam which extends for’ard and aft, provides a completely clear and spacious working deck. It has a broad transom and a flared French style bow with a bulb which makes for a dry boat but helps to increase forward bouyancy to counteract the weight of a forward mounted net hauler and wheelhouse. The bulbous bow aids fuel efficiency and also helps to minimise plunging in a head sea. Three layouts are available consisting of an open version with control console, a forward wheelhouse or after wheelhouse versions.
Over 30 Buccaneer 21’s have been produced since production began in 2000 and, like its smaller sister, has proved to be extremely popular.
A weekender launch version, complete with a galley and toilet, is on the drawing board and should be available in the near future.
